Now in Birmingham, AL, more NOLA pics

Well, I've moved on from New Orleans to Birmingham yesterday. Did a little touring around BHam today, and discovered that far from being the run down old south city I expected, it's actually got a bit of New South glitz.I may actually get around to taking some photos in Birmingham, but for the time being, I'll post a final batch of photos from New Orleans

New Orleans

Currently I'm in New Orleans. I've been here since July 26th (following a week in Baton Rouge). New Orleans is hot and ridiculously humid in August. The roads are also some of the worst that I've seen in a major city. Although much of it can be blamed on Katrina, an article in the local paper recently discussed the fact that local and federal audit crews have been out surveying the streets to determine what was Katrina damage, and what was already there... which kinda tells you the state of the roads before the hurricane.

I have managed to snap a few interesting photos in the French Quarter that I'll share.

The Job

Well, only a full month after I started my new job, I've gotten around to creating my travel blog, and making a post.

For those that missed the memo, I've started a full time travel job. That's right. I'm a vagabond. A nomad. A gypsy. A business traveler. Take your pick. I have no actual place that I live, save for the motel in whatever town we are passing through. Pretty Exciting.

Here is where what I'm doing (collecting street level images) will eventually end up:
