Video I was involved with!

Okay, well finally you can all see something I worked on. My coworker and I attended a New Jersey Nets practice a few weeks back, and the images are now up on NBA.com. My coworker was the camera operator for the shoot, so I mostly held the floor down, but at least you'll get to see something I had a hand in.

Norfolk, VA: Planes

While staying in fabulous Norfolk, VA (actually Virginia Beach to be technical), guests of Oakwood Suites will enjoy daily flyovers of the Navy's state-of-the-art fighter aircraft, thanks to the its convenient location; adjacent to Naval Air Station Oceana.

Fortunatly they tended to close up shop around 10 at night, but being military types, they liked to start about 9am. All of the photos, to give you an idea of how close we actually were to the base , were taken in the back yard of the apartment we stayed in.

Several F/A-18's

And one F/A-18E SuperHornet, note the squarish intake vents under the wing.

Norfolk, VA: Ships

So, although I've just left Norfolk, VA to the slightly more landlocked Richmond, VA, I finally got my Norfolk film developed. For those unaware, 80% of what I post on my blog is shot on a 35mm SLR camera. I do have a point&shoot digital, but it's far less fun to use, so I'll stick with old school film until I can upgrade to a Digital SLR.

Today's blog theme: Ships.

So let's start with no ships, just nautical junk (buoys in this case) fortifying a chain link fence.

The battleship USS Wisconsin, now a museum ship in downtown Norfolk.

The Schooner Virginia, also in Downtown Norfolk.

The Wisconsin and the Virginia.

Weekend off the Job

So I had the past weekend off, and made it to the Penn State v. Iowa game. Penn State won, so a pretty good day.

Here is a Panoramic of the stadium

Also, here is the location of the movie theater I worked at when I attended PSU. A one-plex, now, apartments.

Finally, just for fun, the bane of my existence last week, a damaged wheel on the Bug.
Large chunks of metal + high speeds = $$$

This weekend, I'll post a few photos from Norfolk, VA for your viewing pleasure
